A great way to foster multi cultural awareness in the classroom, and to foster understanding of read aloud text with ELL. This bilingual book also assisted me with classroom management. Story time was often difficult due to the fact that I had 15 Hispanic students in my class, but I do not speak Spanish. I began to understand that the students became ansy as a result of not comprehending the story and boredom. Once I purchased a variety of bilingual books my students calmed down and listened. They even assisted me with words that I could not pronounce, I knew that i had messed up because they would laugh at me, it was a lot of fun and a great learning experience for me, the teacher.
