"The Legend of DR.J the story of Julius Erving" by Marty Bell, is a book about a guy named Julius Erving, who is later given the nickname Dr.J, and his journey to becoming a basketball legend. I normally don't read books that are this long with no pictures, but something about this book has me hooked and wanting to read more like it. Not only is it a book about a basketball legend, but it's also one of my favorite sports, so you know I had to read this book. I enjoyed watching Dr.J's career story unfold in front of my eyes, seeing part of his life from high school to the NBA. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys basketball and wants to learn some history about athletes back then.

A dated (1976) book about my favorite NBA player ever, Julius Erving. Still some interesting stories about Dr. J’s first years of pro basketball and the early years of the ABA just before their absorption by the NBA. A four million dollar contract over several years? We can laugh now, with players getting over $60 million per year. How things have changed.
