This book is a compilation of papers presented in the 1995 Society for American Archaeology symposium, Deciphering Anasazi Violence. Chapters are by Peter Y. Bullock, Ross Hassig, Signa Larralde, and George R. Milner, and represent a multi-regional approach to analyzing Anasazi violence in patterns at archaeological sites. For archaeologists, and anyone interested in the Anasazi, this book offers alternatives to the current theories of the Anasazi as either peaceful farmers or cannibals.
