An ideal self-help book for all anxiety sufferers. This practical handbook, recommended by experts in the field of anxiety disorders, offers coping strategies based on the latest clinical research. Dr. Rodrigo A. Munoz, Past President of the American Psychiatric Association, summarizes the book's "Babior and Goldman have written a book that is quite valuable for patients who ask the treating physician for guidance in contributing to their own treatment." Dominick, an anxiety sufferer, says, "This book is a must first step to regaining control of your life."
This book is on a list I have of books for musician's, and specifically singers, to read. I could see the techniques being useful in cases of high anxiety and I may keep a few of them in the back of my mind in case I ever find myself in a high anxiety situation. Overall a lot of this material seems well-known at this point, but I found the book easy to understand and written in simple enough language that anybody who was looking for ways to deal with their panic or anxiety could find this book helpful.
A self-help book to help people overcome panic attacks. It focuses all on ways to calm oneself, but doesn't actually seem to deal with phobias or helping people understand the cause.
This seems like a book that would be helpful for someone going through therapy, especially if the therapy was using some of these techniques. It is certainly clear, and it gives examples from other people.
