Ballygandon Gang
The Mystery of Monk Island
A week's boating holiday on a lake is an exciting prospect for Brendan, his friend Dessy and his cousin Molly. But Emer, daughter of the high-powered businessman who has hired the boat, seems determined to mess things up for everyone.
There are much bigger problems, though, when someone disappears and ruthless kidnappers demand a ransom.
Left alone on the boat, the young people have to cope by themselves. Should they g to the authorities, or would that mean they would never see the victim alive again? Who are the ghostly figures that lurk on Monk Island at night? The island is full of dangers: there are traps and snares, creatures in the woods and weird chanting sound among the ruins. Meanwhile, the kidnappers are beginning to lose patience...
An adventure for 8-1 year-olds in the tradition of Enid Blyton.
