The sequel to the critically acclaimed "White Night" .. Jo Campbell's journey to claim her everlasting life continues in Eternal Dawn. Jo is reborn as Kris Collins, and grows to be a beautiful, accomplished young woman. Can Jo overcome the devastation she faces and transform pain into the greatest gift?
Kathi Haacke Morehead made her fiction debut with WHITE NIGHT, published by Neely Worldwide. She will be releasing the sequel, ETERNAL DAWN, in November, 2015, also through Neely. She is the author of a retrospective, HEART BLEED: Letting go and stanching the flow, and a blog compilation, THE BEST FROM THE CHEAP SEATS. She has also written numerous articles for Mind Body Green, and Boomeon. She blogs at A View From the Cheap Seats Today, http://www.aviewfromthecheapseats.today.
Kathi lives in Brunswick with her husband Dave and their four finicky felines. Her motto is "love and laugh!"
I just ugly cried. Again. I remember being devastated by White Night when I read the first chapter. Jo is on her deathbed, watching her children's reactions. It brought back up the pain of watching my father slip away and gave me insight into what was probably going through his mind at the time. This book hurt me even more. I don't think it is much of a spoiler to tell you that Kris is suffering from a brain injury. So much of this is told from her perspective as a prisoner within her own body. Again, I lost my father to a brain injury, so this really hit close to home for me. The emotions that must have been going through his head. The lessons he was trying to learn as he teetered on the brink between this world and the next. Then there is the other side of the pain and torture mixed with unconditional love that is felt by the rest of the family during this ordeal. If you have ever been through a similar situation with a loved one, I think you will feel and understand this book better than anyone else will. If you haven't, you will still need a box of Kleenex, because you would have to be completely heartless to not feel anything from this.
Just like in the first book, there are so many life lessons within these pages. As Kris reflects on her spiritual existence, you can't help but contemplate your own life situation. Have I loved too much? Have I sacrificed too much? Have I been too selfish? Unlike Kris, we don't have the wise Soul guiding us along our reflections. But isn't it more important to figure it out for ourselves before it is too late? Isn't that a gift that so many of us often forget to take advantage of?
This book and its predecessor tell the story of an epic love that transcends time and space. Yes, it will make a lot more sense if you read White Night first, but you may get something out of it if you read it as a standalone. It is the kind of love story that we all wish we could have on some level. It shows you that finding your soulmate in life does not guarantee perfection in life, without a lot of bumps and twists. It reminds you that true love really is one of the greatest purposes in life.
I think each person who reads this book is going to have their own experience with it. You are going to have your own life experiences to draw from, to make this book personal to you. I think you need to read it, to help put your life into perspective and to learn your own lessons. Despite feeling absolutely shattered at the moment, having just finished it, I am glad I read it. I liked it even more than the first one.

I will start by saying - If you haven't read The White Night by Kathi Haacke Morehead, that it would be beneficial to read it before reading Eternal Dawn. Some parts of this book will make more sense to you as a result.
As was The White Night, Eternal Dawn is also an intense spiritual type story. When Kris and Jake Collins story starts they literally have the a dream life!!! They are not only successful, living happy lives, having a loving family, but they are also deeply in love!!! You could say that all of their dreams were coming true and their lives couldn't be any more perfect. UNTIL - - Oh wait, I can't say anymore because I refuse to write a spoiler and to say more would definitely spoil the story for you!! I will say that this story does deliver a very spiritual and will keep you wondering exactly what is going to happen next!!!
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
This was an exceptional book! Soul searching in so many ways while reading.. Makes you wander just what some may go through as to what others do and how each handle the situations. It was a wonderful read to say the least!
White Night made me cry. The sequel, Eternal Dawn, was a tearjerker. Everything that happened in the story was something that could happen to me or anyone in the world. It was so real and life like. At times it was especially heart wrenching because I am a mother of a baby boy, just like Kris. That being said, I really enjoyed the book.
From White Night we understand that we come to this life to learn specific lessons and we have our Soul to guide us. In Eternal Dawn we find out that we do not learn all the lessons we need to in one life time. We have to come back to this life several times until we finally learn all of the lessons we need to. In Eternal Dawn we follow Jo and Max, a.k.a. Kris and Jake, as they learn one of life’s hardest lessons.
At the start of Eternal Dawn we see Jo’s parents and Max sending Jo off to her next life. Max is to follow her and Jo’s parents want to make sure that he will help her through her life because it is going to be the toughest one yet. Jo becomes Kris and Max becomes Jake, but their love for each other is just as strong as it was in White Night and maybe even stronger. In the first few chapters, Kris has an accident and it is through the consequences of this accident that Kris has to learn a very hard lesson.
In White Night, Jo gets to look back at her life after she has died. But in Eternal Dawn, she gets to look forward to see what her life will be like and based on that she has to make a decision that will not only affect her life but lives of her son and husband. While reading the story I felt as if I were Jo because the difficulties that she was having were ones that I could have and I couldn’t imagine my life without my baby boy or husband. The ending is so perfect, as well. It may not match my idea of heaven, but it is Jo and Max’s heaven. The last few pages really make you smile, too.
I felt like Eternal Dawn opened my eyes a bit more. I realized that sometimes I take things and people for granted and that I need to cherish these things more. I also had my belief that everything happens for a reason reaffirmed. At the same time, my belief that we have free will and the ability to choose our path in life was strengthened as well. I love that I can learn and grow from a work of fiction. Both White Night and Eternal Dawn were inspiring and uplifting books.
I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions in this review are 100% my own.
Jake and Kris are a very happy couple. who are expecting, till one dark cloud packs above their heads, six month pregnant, Kris get shot. There is many to deal with, many thoughts spend pf the why. Question is will their marriage be strong enough to carry all this, will love conquer it all??? It hit home hard for me, I liked the strong love in this story that will rm your heart. Many lessons can be learned in this book, it will probably be different for everyone. be read to get emotional too. Well written deep story that leaves you with a lot learned.

Do you believe in soulmates? Kathi Haacke Morehead challenges this concept in her book, Eternal Dawn. Kris and Jake are soul mates who are repeatedly tested. As they face each challenge head-on, they are forced to re-examine their own lives and beliefs. Lessons abound around every turn. It’s a gripping, emotional read that sucks you into their story, while also making you think. I challenge anyone to read this without starting to analyze their own lives. Just be sure you have a box of tissues with you as you do it.
This book is a follow-up to White Night. The lessons actually begin in that first novel, so it is recommended that you start with it to reap the full benefits.
I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
I have to admit, although the idea of this novel fascinates me, this was a difficult book to get through. The story is beautiful, but also filled with several heartbreaking moments. This book will put you on an emotional rollercoaster as we visit the idea of reincarnation and soulmates. Kris learns a bit about being selfless and about sacrifice. This was a magnificent story, one that requires having a box of Kleenex handy.
