An in-depth look at the science behind Pycnogenol, a complex of some 40 antioxidants extraced from the bark of French maritime pine tress. Pycnogenol has remarkable healing properties from enhancing circulation, physical strength and congnitive function to treating menstrual cramps and menopausal symptoms as well as fighting chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
The bark of the French maritime pine is what makes Pycnogenol. Although there is not a 'kidney' section or 'kidney(s)' being listed in the index, there's substantial information to be extrapolated from the text on the kidneys. I made my own index of the kidney sections as I came across their mentioning: pgs. 36, 69, 77, 84, and 91. This and the information on Pycnogenol as an anti-inflammatory are what I was most interested in reading. This is an easy to read and discernable book on an over looked, but seemingly very important antioxidant. I recommend it to people that are pre-diabetic or suffer from autoimmune symptoms especially involving inflammation.
Excellent exposition of each bodily system benefited
The bibliography of papers and studies of the effects and functions of pycnogenol is comprehensive. Everything I need to know to proceed with my usage of the substance. A valuable reference book.
