A solid anthology. I think if it was a contiguous work it would’ve taken me less time, but because it’s a collection, I thought nothing of just reading 1-2 passages at a time. So many of these raise good questions that are still extremely poignant at this time in history.
For me, the standout selections were:
*The Basic Causes - National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders *The Montgomery Bus Boycott - Martin Luther King, Jr. *The March on Washington - Lerone Bennett, Jr. *The Pilgrimage of Malcom X - I. F. Stone *What We Want - Stokely Carmichael *A Letter from Jail - Eldridge Cleaver *The Nuns’ Rebellion - Gail Cottman *The Place of a Priest - James E. Groppi
