This textbook may be shining by contrast but it has a couple of things going for it, IMO.
1) It is written in language that intends for it to be understood. It doesn't use esoteric terms it hasn't introduced before. It doesn't use acronyms it never explains. This is such a relief.
2) It has chapter summaries. This is a huge deal when you have super long chapters! What did I just read?! Well, let me check the summary. Ahh! Yes, now I remember. Also for exam reviews. For real.
3) It has reading comprehensions AND ANSWERS. It doesn't just ask you something and leave you hanging. Obviously great for verifying reading comprehension but also so great for exam review.
This is definitely one of the better textbooks in nursing school thus far.

Very disorganized and repetitive. The pertinent information was almost never in one place- you had to flip back and forth to find it.

This is actually a decent book, with good connections to nursing priorities. It summarized key ideas pretty well without being long-winded, though there were a few times when I wished it could have gone a bit more in depth, or made better connections.

Overall, not terrible. I would recommend using it with the Evolve resources online, because those do very well with summarizing and giving key points for reference and study.

I had to read this for my OB class in nursing school, yes it is a textbook and thus can be a bit dry but honestly it was really interesting and I think I might keep it rather than reselling it.
