A compelling account of the development of Aura-Soma color therapy by its founder Vicky WallShows how Aura-Soma uses the symbolism, energies, and effect of color to promote growth in consciousnessExplains the nature and use of the dual-colored Equilibrium combinationsExplores the subtle anatomy of the individual to balance the body's chakrasAura-Soma is an innovative approach to soul therapy that relies on bottles of dual-colored liquids that incorporate plant extracts, essential oils, and the energies and extracts of precious and semiprecious stones. The energetic properties found in the liquids interact with the individual's aura to help support equilibrium in the body, mind, and spirit. The practice of Aura-Soma was developed by Vicky Wall, who drew upon the mystical traditions of the Kabbalah and the medicinal and healing qualities of living plants that she learned from her father. Clairvoyant from childhood, she was able to perceive the subtle energies surrounding an individual. As an adult, this clairvoyant ability was amplified as her physical sight diminished and was eventually lost. Having been an apprentice to a pharmacist in an earlier phase of her life, her understanding of the significance of combining substances resurfaced as she created the first dual-colored Equilibrium bottle. At first she did not know the significance of what she had discovered, but it soon became clear that the oils, extracts, and essences contained in these bottles had remarkable qualities to facilitate perception and self remembering.
Aura-Soma: Self-Discovery through Color is a beautifully printed book and an absolute joy to read. Vicky Wall created the Aura-Soma system. Wall believed that color serves as the window to the soul. She believed that she was effectively re-birthing an ancient system that was used by so many mystics throughout the ages. Mystics and ancient doctors used color, and also in this age, to diagnose the state of a soul and the corresponding weaknesses or sickness that would manifest in the body which would reflect the soul. Vicky Wall believed that her Aura-Soma system and the bottles containing a veritable rainbow of color she developed was "old wine in new vessels". She became blind and perfected the Aura-Soma bottles through the help of a friend who became the eyes and hands of Vicky as she worked to create her equilibrium and pomander bottles.
Wall believed that the beautiful "jewels", as she described her creations, could also heal. There have been many reported instances of healing occurring after commencing the application of the charming colorful liquids encased in beautifully made glass bottles. The "Humpty Dumpty" bottle is frequently used to heal the skin of animals and particularly horses, numerous reports state the usefulness of this sunset orange solution.
Aura-Soma practitioners are trained to discover the facets of personality to a client and interpret the findings to the client. The client selects four bottles during a reading with an Aura-Soma practitioner. The practitioner describes to the client influences of the past, current influences and future challenges based on the selection of these bottles.
A physically meditative movement can also be practiced applying the favourite chosen bottle. This practice encourages a gracefulness and thankfulness for life. Hopes and desires it is believed can be developed and manifested by focusing on the chakras and aura of the bodies energy system.
Whatever the beliefs of the writer of this book, wall writes in such an open and descriptive manner her words disarmed my disbelief and prejudice I had about her theories and the power of her jewels. Aura-Soma was her life work. The book is beautifully written, so many words had a positive effect on me as I delved even deeper into life and the depth of the personality and the soul we all possess. To me the true value of Aura-Soma Self-Discovery through Color encourages us to consider the deeper aspects of ourselves and how we make a direct impact on our own world.
Written from the heart, this book mixes the life story and color therapy technique developed by Vicky Wall founder of Aura-Soma. Quite insightful on healers and healing guidelines. Encourages self-discovery through color using great and unique techniques and products.
This was the first book I read about Aura-Soma and it was fascinating to read about Vicky Wall's life and how she started the Aura-Soma business. I have always loved colour and studied many forms of colour therapies. I read it about sixteen years ago and it was the book that first got me to use Aura-Soma products, I have used them ever since. For inspiration factor I would give it five stars, but it does get quite deep in parts, which slowed the reading process. The friends I lent the book to found the same thing, so it's probably not everyone's cup of tea. Read it if you are interested in how one person's vision can create global changes or if you love anything spiritual or metaphysical. Certainly buy a copy if you like a good biography with a positive message or you like stories of people overcoming adversity.
