Back Talk!: Women Leaders Changing the Church

Rate this book
Willhauck has heard the church say to "Don't give me any Back Talk!" Too often, she contends, women have been told what to do in order to get ahead.
In Back Talk!, Willhauck will use this admonishing term in a positive way to help the church change for the better. She effectively discusses gender issues in leadership - recent changes as well as current changes - and identifies key areas in which change is needed and how women leaders have made changes.
In particular, the book examines the growing leadership of ethnic women in the church, especially Korean, Latino, and African American women, and also shows how feminist, womanist, liberation, and Asian theologies serve as a resource for analyzing data concerning change.
