For all who are searching for their someone special. May the gift of love reach your hearts this holiday season.
Sandy Loyd is a Western girl through and through. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, she's worked and lived in some fabulous places in the US,including South Florida. She now resides in Kentucky and writes full time. As much as she loves her current hometown, she misses the mountains and has to go back to her roots to get her mountain fix at least once a year.
She spent her single years in San Francisco and considers that city one of America's treasures, comparable to no other city in the world. Her California Series, starting out with Winter Interlude, are all set in the Bay Area. Her series consists of fun, heartwarming stories about crazy friends who, like single people everywhere, are seeking that someone special to share their lives with among thousands of eligible candidates.
I can't put into words how bad this was. I can't even fathom why I finished it. It must be like when you see something disgusting or sad but can't look away. The problem I have lies with the female character. She is such a whiny and demanding woman. I mean seriously she is 32 and is surprised that a guy is not willing to marry her after they know each other for only 4 weeks. Oh and of course kids are also a must have in her commitment request. I get that she has issues due to a father who was absent and divorced her mother to live with a new family. But she makes it as if you are only a family with father+mother+child. So that basically means she and her mother were never a family. And each hard working single mom or dad are not a family. I'd like to hear their thoughts. I totally understand how important marriage is for some, but please DON'T GIVE OTHERS THE FEELING OF BEEING IN THE WRONG JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO PIECE OF PAPER WHICH READS 'MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE'.
... sorry for the rant
Oh and apart from that the love declarations were so not romantic... this was just sad

"The True Meaning of Love, Faith, and Understanding"
"A Christmas Miracle Book 2" was so good I couldn't even pause it. It was a perfect romance even after Christmas. Heartwarming and endearing, I loved this story. Angie and Brad found each other even though both had had previous failed relationships. This was definitely an uplifting story for a cold winter night. I'm really enjoying Sandy Loyd's writing more and more. (And I loved the kitty cats as well.)
Carol Dines did an outstanding job narrating this story as well. Her voice inflections were spot on and she was a perfect match for Angie as well as handling Brad's character. An overall great story and recommended.
