Making Stupid Work

Rate this book
The train gig was a good idea. Like most good ideas, it was Ellie’s idea-- fall asleep, leave my body, find a rich guy, peer over his shoulder (without Prickling him, of course), steal his secrets, make a couple grand, you know? Simple. Easy. Except for the part where that didn’t happen. What happened instead was that I got mad at pizza, and then we wandered around a field and I got nervous about a machine-- after which I told a really great joke but Ellie didn’t get it. And also I said “Oh”. A lot. Don’t even get me started on the eyelash-curler. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Witches, Walkers, and weirdness abound in this surreal debut novel by Matt Cantor. Part love-story, part action movie, part mystery, part comedy. Not suited for readers under 96 years old, or with any sort of moral compass.
