Sometimes it pays off to stick with a book that is a bit of a slow starter, and this book for me was one of those pleasant surprises. It's a bit of Romantic suspense with dash of magic and voodoo mixed in.

Randal/Randi/Angel is trying to start over in a Florida - away from the what's left of her family. She's independent, a budding author and many times seems to get lost in her dream world. The day she leaves home she is given a gift from her stepmother who has passed on - a small box with 2 talismans (actually there is a place for a third - but it's missing). These talismans seem to put Randi into a trance like state where she sees visions and loses track of time.

Randi is a likeable heroine who really just wants to discover what is happening around her and why. Her love interest - Michael is swoon worthy. He is that kind of man that is both tough, he is a cop after all, but seems to melt in Randi's presence. He appears to be ready to do anything to keep her safe.

Once the action and intrigue started I had trouble putting this story down. It seemed to haunt me even while I was going about my daily business. And the ending - well, that was definitely a mind blower!

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this Author's Copy and was not compensated in any way.

I wanted to love it but...

This was an interesting story. It is a whole bunch of individual strands that are getting tied together. The end result is pretty cool but at the beginning of the story, it was difficult. I had a really hard time getting into it because I couldn't see how all of the strands connected. That made it very hard to make any kind of sense of the story, with different perspectives, backgrounds and details left out, different times and cities. Any of these factors add some depth and mystery but all of them make it a little bit difficult. That said, as it started to come together, it felt like a continuous epiphany through to the end of the story.

As for the characters, Randi was both very relatable and impossible to connect with. When the book starts, she is moving from New York to Miami, out of the family circle for the first time in her life. This is a typical coming of age kind of feeling and seems pretty universal in that respect. However, she gets so scared as these "voodoo-ey" things start to happen and she doesn't see several very clear connections, just from her perspective, making it hard to for me to fit in her shoes.
Michael is fantastic though. Through and through, he is the best character in the book, with Lucius as a close second. He is new the detective scene but he doesn't let that discourage him. He jumps in with two feet and allows for unexpected and unexplained factors throughout his investigation. Obviously he is deliciously attractive and so sensitive and just very dreamy in general.
Lucius was hard to get a read on because he just kept popping up and I wasn't sure I was following the story right. I liked him as a detective, I didn't like him in the voodoo parts and I was mostly just confused when he dealt with Bert. As for Bert and all of the remaining secondary characters, I didn't see the point of them. They were brought up to provide extra stuff but they were never really developed and those that were almost weren't present at all. That was a little bit frustrating.
Nick, though, was crazy. We didn't learn that much about him until later but from the very beginning you are pretty sure he is not a good guy and he plays the bad guy very well.

As for the plot line, I'm really not sure what to say. It's more of the same confusion and frustration that has happened everywhere else. You get to a straightforward point and then it jumps over to the past of a different person or something completely unrelated, without a lot of explanation a lot of the time. That said, once I got into it, I was hooked and it was interesting but I had a hard time through certain sections because of that.

As for the ending, it ended and could have totally been a HEA but then there's a twist that really comes out of nowhere and then another one that basically ends on a major cliffhanger. If the last chapter didn't exist I would call this book at least a 4 star book but the last chapter kind of messed everything up for me. I have little doubt that it will be important for the next book but at the end of this book it was very frustrating.

Overall, I liked the story but it felt a little bit forced at times, whether the plot or the mystery or the interesting parts. It just didn't feel natural and that made it hard to be in the moment with the characters because it just wouldn't have happened that way. I would call it a 3.5 star book as it is. Some people may like stories that are a little bit more spread out but it just wasn't right for me, which is a real downer because I usually like Ciana Stone a lot more than this.

Wow, Wow!!! What a story! I don’t like to give anything away in my reviews, so don’t read any further if you don’t want me to spoil the story.

This story had some amazing nail biting turns in the plot. At first I wasn’t sure what Lucius’ role was and if I was going to like him. But about half way threw the story you find out that he is there to help and protect Randi as her guardian. The murder scenes were brutal, but with Ciana’s description she really brought them to life. It was very easy to see them in my head when I read. It left me feeling uneasy, but not in a bad way. It made me want to read more to find out what happened next. And the part with the Talisman, I wasn’t sure about these things being good or bad for Randi, but you find out at the end what role they play too. I thought it a little creepy that the “killer” had to look like Michael, but I get why and it was a nice twist. And I loved the fact that no matter what Nick did to win Randi, it just pushed her closer to Michael.

I could go on and on about this story. This is different from anything I have read from Ciana and I positively loved it and can’t wait for the next story. The ending was wonderful surprised too. I was heartbroken when Randi gave the Talisman to Michael and he turned evil. But then something stepped in and the story took another twist.

If you don’t read this you are missing out on a story about murder, with some nail biting suspenseful parts, and a good battle between good and evil or so you think.

Wow! This is a wild, suspense filled, twists around every corner, epic roller coaster ride! From cover to cover there is so much jam packed into this story. But the kicker is it all works and works fantastically. The characters are full of life and written to perfection. There is action of epic good an evil proportions. The story line is far from predictable or your run of the mill story, this one hands down stands on its own. From one minute to the next you're shaking your kindle trying to smack the bad guy and then the next you are rooting for the good guys. This story dives into a darkness some people will need to tread lightly while reading. Some of the situations are dark and heart breaking but the author does a wonderful job of not being crass or overly descriptive. From voodoo, phantoms, romance and the battle of good v/s evil, this story did not disappoint. An absolute adventure to read. I would recommend this to anyone who has a love for suspense, paranormal, and adventure with some romance splashed in. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This book is amazingly well developed and planned out. I'm trying not to spoil anything too much, but I'll be honest , I need book 2. NOW!!! This book doesn't just end and leave you hanging, but I think you would definitely want to read the 2nd book soon after the 1st book. I think to understand the complexity of the story line, you would need to at least skim book 1 before starting book 2. There were so many twists and turns, I had to create a mental map to draw myself some lines as to how things were connected. But again, this was a very well-written piece of paranormal/suspense/romance fiction. LOVED it!

I received this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Wrath, literally shook me up a bit. It's a story that completely takes purpose in your mind and some parts frightened me. The very shakey line we walk between good and evil is very detailed in this book and constantly had me shaking my head wondering what the heck was happening and more so along could this really happen?

Wrath had me so wound up in suspense, worry for the characters, worry that could this stuff really happen, would I have seen the signs of I were Randall, wow this was an intense book.

Very good read

An intriguing story of good versus evil. The art of black magic and voodoo weaves a tale of a woman bound to this dark world as a child but must submerge herself as a woman to make the right choice to save mankind of evil prevails. Randall thought by Leaving her childhood home was going to give her a fresh start. What she didn't realize was that it was putting her on a path that would force her to make life or death choices. She also didn't realize that it would take her to the man of her dreams.

Ok.. so ciana is one of my new favorite authors.. i love her writing and that stays true but this story was harder for me to get into. The beginning moved very slow for me.. and I was almost about to give up and then it turned around. The characters grew on me... the writing got faster and moved more. More fun, adventure, and lots of intrique ended up happening in the story. So overall I did enjoy this story but had to fight to get to where it got better. I am very glad I got to review it and can't wait to see what happens in her next book

When Ciana Stone takes on a topic as epic as Good and Evil, she does it with the same intensity she does in all her books. She asks the tough questions...if you were standing on the line--and were forced to choose--would you choose the Light (Good) or the Dark (Evil) side?

Seriously, this book gets inside your head and literally scares the c**p out of you! The book is somewhat confusing but keep reading...it all comes together in the end. A very fitting read for Halloween.

In the fight of good vs evil what will you choose?

This book has a high emotional content: confusion, loneliness, uncertainty, love, desire, and hope.
What would you do if strange and scary things started happening around you that can't be explained? When you don't know who to trust would you be able to stand your ground or would you run screaming? And then this author hits you with a completely unexpected ending...

Happy reading : )

Received the book for an honest review. Wrath: Voodoo's Angel is my first introduction to Ciana Stone's books. And what an introduction. There is never a dull moment. It's the classic tale of good versus evil with many twists and turns. Very much the page turner. There won't be any spoilers so you'll have to pick up the book for yourself. So, this is where I say "I highly recommend" the book! Can't wait for Ms. Stone's next writing adventure.

This was a tale of good and evil I am one that does not like horror stories so this was really out of my comfort zone. I was a very well written story of Michael and Randi. I received a complementary copy of this book.
