It's 1870 and Victoria's adventures begin when her estranged father comes to her mother's funeral. It's been years of separation because of the sea. Victoria decides to go with her father instead of remaining in Cornwall, and then her life blossoms in the next two years. Talk about a girl in every port--it's a man in every port!!
I'd give it 2.5-2.75 stars actually. I found this book rather disappointing, impossible in all that happened to Victoria. I did like who she ended up with, but it seemed that the author tried to cram SO many events into the book that the ending was rather rushed. At least she does get a little more wisdom with her experience and grows into an independant women...I suppose I might read it again, but I wouldn't care to own it- it'd never get read...

DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! I REPEAT DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! It is immoral! I only got half way through and then I had to throw it down and stomp on it! (I really did stomp on it!) :P
