I love this quiet, subtle book which helps label feelings by comparing them to animals. The illustrations are key using body language and color to help identify the different emotions. It teaches that it's okay to feel all sorts of different things. I appreciate that it helps put labels on emotions to help young children to have self-awareness and explain their emotions. Little ones feel so many emotions and it can be hard for them to understand - this book is great for giving them one more resource.

This is a book about feelings. There are different animals that portray each feeling in the book. The illustrations in this book are a bit fuzzy but it was pleasant. This book is an easy read. I gave it 4 stars because the pictures weren't as vibrant and inviting as I would have hoped they were. The illustrations kind of look like pastel chalks were used to draw them. The colors are a little grim to me but over all a nice book.

This is a good book for Pre K to 2nd grade. It can be used to help children express themselves. This book is especially good for ELL students who are trying to learn how to express their feelings in the English language. The book can be read alongside a chart with pictures of different facial expressions. The students can connect the words with the faces because in the story the author uses animals. It is also a good lesson on being yourself and it's okay to have certain feelings because that is part of who we are.

This book does not have a Lexile or Guided Reading Level. It is meant for ages 4 and up which is PreK - 2nd grade.

I enjoyed the comparison of human emotions and animal traits. I love the positive message at the end, a message for all people of all ages.
