This is Book 2 of a continuous series. These books should be read in order. None of the books are standalones. The Duke of Weirlane, Crispin Alan Copley, is determined to attend a house party with a debauched reputation. Enraged to find his best friend from childhood attending, he vows to protect her from the reprobates that will also be in attendance—including himself—and will not hesitate to ruin an innocent. Unfortunately, the best-laid plans go awry. Lady Catherine Benton is devastated to discover that her father has deliberately sent her to a gathering that could see her married to one who would purchase her for evil means. The only saving grace is that the man she has loved for years is also attending and has vowed to protect her. But is he able to do so? Or will he be the cause of her eventual downfall? "Gianna Thomas has dreamed up rakes every woman will want to reform personally . . . Lord Weirlane is a rake who discovers his inner gentleman when he finds love, and the result is nothing short of spectacular." ~ Kay Springsteen, Amazon #1 Bestselling Author

Gianna has been in love with Historical Romance/Mysteries, and especially Regency Romance, for many years. But it wasn’t until 2013 that she started writing in this genre.
Gianna discovered Pride and Prejudice, and its many variations, what ifs and fan fiction. She was totally fascinated by the variety of plots that eager authors had utilized. After reading several of these fascinating books, she realized why others loved them and Jane Austen’s books so well.

Gianna was aware of the storyline of Pride and Prejudice after reading it many years ago and seeing the 1940’s movie as well as the 2005 movie with Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen. She loved the 2005 movie and the musical score. Yes, the movie wasn’t 100% accurate, but isn’t the goal to entertain and touch the heart? And this movie touched her heart and helped her to appreciate more the talent of Jane Austen.

Rereading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice has given her greater insight into Ms. Austen’s genius in depicting different personalities and situations and the society of her day. As a mature adult, Gianna sees much more in her books now than ever before.

After reading nearly 200 variations and fan fictions, Gianna now had P&P plots running through her head. She finally decided that they needed to be put to paper (today, on the computer), to see how they would develop. She is having an absolute ball in writing about Darcy and Elizabeth and is pleased with how things are developing. Her goal is to entertain and touch hearts. Hopefully, with her first rendering 'Darcy Chooses', she achieved that goal and touched your heart also.

More recently, Gianna started looking beyond Pride and Prejudice, with her first foray into Regency Romance generally, with The Four Lords’ Saga Series.

Gianna Thomas is a ghostwriter of poetry and e-books who became a widow after twenty-two years with her very own Mr. Darcy, who was her second husband. She lives a quiet life in a small Illinois town with her cats and loves to read regency romance, Jane Austen’s works and the many variations done by other lovers of Pride and Prejudice.

The Four Lords are on the loose and looking for wives! But they have a secret bet between them. All must find love matches. They may all be rakes, but they wish for something more in their relationships. This is the story of Crispin Copley, Lord Weirlane. He is the most irresponsible rake in the bunch! His debauchery is well known! He has it in his head to attend a house party notorious for drunken, lascivious attendees. Men and women alike know what they are in for when they go to one of these house parties! His friends try to warn him, but he won't listen!

Upon arriving at this house party, Crispin is immediately on the offensive. He runs into another guest, a woman he has known for a very long time! Lady Catherine Benton! He has always felt the need to protect her. Now it is critical that he do so! The men at the party are all clamoring for her attentions and to be the one to bed her! Crispin must be vigilant! Catherine trusts him with her virtue and her reputation! Hopefully, they can get out of this with both!

This was a story of heartache and remorse, and of romance. Very well written and thought out. The way things go for these 2 wonderful people isn't the right way, or the easy way to do things, but nothing worth it is ever easy!
Catherine and Crisping are easy people to like. Though he is a rogue, he still has some redeeming qualities.
This is an excellent second book in the series and I am really anxious to read the next book! The other lords left are still trying to figure out how not to lose the bet! I am sure their roads to marriage and, hopefully, love, will be just as difficult!

5 stars for me!

#2 in "The Four Lords' " Saga, can be read as a stand alone, however, I would recommend reading in order.
An interesting tale of Historical Romance Short stories. A quick read, but well worth the time to read. Interesting and intriguing characters with a unique and intriguing storyline. I enjoyed the Crispin and Catherine's how they came to find their HEA. Their story has tragedy, is compelling and powerful. Oh, yes and another House Party. Ms. Thomas is a compelling and amazing storyteller. Her storylines will draw the reader in and capture their heart. Another enjoyable and satisfying read from Ms. Thomas.

The next two books, should prove just as challenging as the two prior, I can't wait to read them as well.

Lord Foxdown – Book 3 - What happens when one falls in love, but the family objects, especially his friend who is the brother of his beloved?

Lord Brookton – Book 4 - Saving a fair maiden can have serious consequences when she has a right hook like Gentleman Jim Jackson.

Storyline good

Once again the premise of the story was well done but lacked depth. I liked the characters and the realization that good at heart really means something. I enjoy the friendship among the four Lord's but I was often left with a feeling of not much meat. Often read like an outline instead of a fleshed out story. This could have been so much better with a bit more detail. This was however better than the first book and I will continue to the next one. One thing the author does extremely well is the teaser to the next book.

This gift was given to me for an honest review. He went there knowing he was going to do wrong. She was forced to be there by her father. She was so glad to see him there. He decided to protect her from the other rakes. Things happened that placed them in circumstances beyond their control. The event that happened may have changed her feelings for him. Will his honor make him step up. Enjoy I did.

Good read

I enjoyed reading about Crispin and Catherine. It mad me cry about Catherine and the baby. But all turned out. Though I found this to be more a narrative story. It was still worth reading. Look forward to the next.

A little superficial

Enjoyable story but needs more character development. The section regarding Lord Windermere should have been included in that book. Felt like instead of continuing and development of the story there was a good deal of filling to make it longer
