Has your Partner Got Asperger's, High Functioning Autism, Autism Spectrum Disorder: Questions you should ask yourself with real life examples of living with someone with Asperger's.

If you are buying and reading books like this then you must be puzzled with your partners behaviour and are looking for answers to why they behave the way they do. This book lists the characteristics of Asperger's with examples of the characteristics and questions you should ask yourself. Like for instance does your partner dismiss your affection? or is your partner socially awkward? I lived with someone with Asperger's for 13 years, he was undiagnosed and I was left puzzled and damaged by this relationship. I began to research why he behaved the way he did and while researching I came across many differing personality disorders none of which fit until I researched Asperger's. Asperger s fit my ex like a glove and the light bulb moments went ping ping ping.
I was irritated by the material I found out there as it was all about coping with your partners behaviour and changing yourself to fit in with their behaviour. I wanted to know about the damage they caused to the normal partner and I wanted to know it in its raw and brutal truth. I didn't want it wrapped up in cotton wool and political correctness as not to offend the Asperger's population, stuff them what about the people they destroy like ME. What help is there for damaged partners damaged by this neurological disorder, partners who were normal but now are almost destroyed.
Read this book and it will give you a damn good idea to whether your partner has Asperger's (or High Functioning Autism as it is now known and in the UK its known as Autism Spectrum Disorder). This book is not meant as a formal diagnosis you would have to go to a professional for that, but it will clarify at lot of points.

Unbalanced and derogatory.

I found this book difficult to read.

I'm

I found this a difficult read: the grammar is appalling with many sentences nonsensical. Also it comes across as toxic and vitriolic and tarnishes all high functioning ASD folk with the same negative uncompassionate verdict.

I can relate..

to most of the things in this book... Comforting to know that I'm not alone in some of my feelings and that I'm probably right about living with Mr Spock.

I liked this book it listed one by one the traits of HFA it was easy to understand and I totally related to it. I have read Katy Ford's other book Broken and that was excellent too. I knew for years my ex partner wasn't "right" but I didn't know what was wrong with him I wish to god I could have read this book years ago then I might not have had to suffer as much as I did with my ex.
