How, exactly, did Ebenezer Scrooge stay true to his word and change in order to become a better person? What good deeds did he actually do to leave behind his life as an old miser and curmudgeon? What became of Tiny Tim? In this follow-up novella based on the great Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, long-time Dickens fan and writer Stephanie Verni imagines Scrooge’s path to redemption that includes philanthropy, family, friendships, and love. Dickens fans will be treated to insights as to how Scrooge changed his ways in this heartwarming tale full of Christmas spirit as we revisit old Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Scrooge’s nephew, Fred, Isabelle, Tiny Tim, and more in this charming Christmas tale.

If you love A Christmas Carol and want a quick read to see what Scrooge’s life might have been like, check this book out. It’s a cute story and fun to read about the old and new characters. It’s not a 5-star book but I do think it’s a nice cozy read for the holidays under a blanket with some hot cocoa.
I love this imagining of Ebenezer’s life, post-ghostly revelation. As Verni tells it, Scrooge truly is a changed man and keeps Christmas in his heart all the days of his life.
A genuinely wonderful and imaginative take on what Scrooge's life would have looked like after the events of A Christmas Carol, featuring Tiny Tim growing up to be a doctor - the very concept of which was enough to make me well up!

f you want a quick feel good Christmas read, try From Humbug to Humble by Stephanie Verni. The author a fan of Charles Dickens takes A Christmas Carol, into the years after Scrooges encounter with the ghost. Scrooge, his nephew Fred, all the Cratchits, what might have happened.
Until this year, I had never read the original Dickens A Christmas Carol - yikes! And when I heard that this follow up tale was available, I read them both in one day. The author creatively weaves in many elements and characters of the original story (Belle, Tiny Tim, the Fezziwigs joyous party) and wraps it up neatly with a perfect bow.
