On the Wings of the Dawn
Stories from a modern-day aviation adventurer move from entertainment to inspirationMax Meyers, Australian pilot, is back again with a second volume of stories of his aviation exploits in the outback, the bush, and among third-world leaders. He tells of making emergency flights to people reachable only by small aircraft--on missions that often succeeded, but sometimes failed. He writes of the time he and his team had to dismantle a downed plane trapped on a remote riverbank and then float the plane parts down the rapids by canoe. He rescued a snake-bitten Papua New Guinea man from the bush and nearly killed him with first aid on the way back to base. And he was invited to an oppressive third-world leader’s private retreat home because the man wanted to know the secret of servant leadership.Whether writing about high adventure or about deep pathos, these tales from the life of an aviator whose experience ranges from a military pilot in the Australian Air Force to the head of Mission Aviation Fellowship will entertain, encourage, and inspire.

Real-life aviation stories by missionary pilot Max Meyers. Each chapter is a stand-alone story with a spiritual application. I enjoyed each one, especially the one about trying to restore an old piano and transporting a plane by river.

A collection of missionary pilot stories. Not as good as Into the Glory, in my opinion.

Knowing Max Meyers (as former president of MAF) makes this book even better. He's the real deal.
