Is theology still useful for today's men and women? Can it help them to find "meaning" in their lives. The answer is "no" if theology tries to change God into the condition and the only source of meaning. The answer is positive if theology offers a new and personal light: the actualization of an excess which allows meaning to arise in each man and woman. Theology becomes then something necessary for today's world and offers an opportunity to find meaning. This book is an attempt to find meaning precisely where it abides, that is, in those places the author calls "areas of meaning": freedom (is it possible to find meaning without freedom?); identity (who am I? do I have a meaning?); destiny (what do I Do with my life?); hope (is there meaning at the end of life or is hope the last illusion of Pandora's box?); and imagination (the place of legends and myths, an inexhaustible source where we try to renew our meaning).
