I read this book awhile back, please excuse my lack of memory. What I can recall, this was an awesome book! She was a brave young girl. Actually, my favorite part of the book was when the little girl moved in with her grandmother, on her father's side of the family. There she met the lovely woman who changed her out look on life. What frustrated me was that their mother did not take any sort of actions towards her boyfriend who was molesting the little girl. I loved the fact that her brother was so close to his sister. He really did care for her... Great relationship between them both...
