Equality, Participation, Transition: Essays in Honour of Branko Horvat

Rate this book
To celebrate the 70th birthday of Croatian-born economic theorist and planner Horvat, who has worked and taught in many countries, 11 colleagues, most from eastern Europe, analyze and extend his work on labor management and related matters such as inequality, workers' participation, transition economies, privatization, and economic growth. Among his efforts has been to meld central ideas of Marxism with those of neoclassical political economics, arguing that though Marxism has been discredited as a whole, it is the only political philosophy of the 20th century that even attempts to understand and defend the interests of the world's poor.
