"Is it magic?" No, it is science!"

Classic self-parody of a kid's science book quote aside, I was looking for a simple explanation of the science behind bread and turning to books for kids is a way forward.

I'd like a book that covered the various loaves, techniques, and what not in more depth--any scientist bakers out there with writing skills?

This is a great book to describe chemical changes that happen in something that children usually eat everyday--bread. The photographs and graphics are pleasing and the scientific facts are interesting. Upper elementary children will enjoy this book.

Didn't realize it was a childrens book when I picked it up. I was able to enjoy it with my son as well as learn some valuable information about bread.
