I wish the cover of this book was available! The pouty Bratz seductively stare from the cover. They are true to their name! The book is written for a fairly low reading level (3rd or 4th), yet the main characters are rich high schoolers who spend all their time buying new outfits at the mall, getting pedicures, talking about clothes and boys. Just like their pictures (which upon closer scrutiny, I realized they all start out with the same face, but have different colored eyes, hair, and lips), the girls are all the same and you can't tell any of them apart. This is not the lesson to teach young girls.
So, there is no character development, no real plot, no literary merit of any kind. The book is carried by dialogue, but that's incredibly confusing because you can't keep straight who said what. Because I am trying to be open-minded, the only possible saving grace for this book is that it could potentially get a girl with no interest in reading to read.
