I liked this book from the first chapter and it only got better the further on I advanced in the story. The last chapter had me crying and a book rarely has that affect on me. Not because it was bad but because I thought it was a very moving story and the author totally drew me into the story.
Meg McGuire was trying to start all over in Canyon Springs Arizona. She was rebounding from a broken engagement and from her recent cancer treatments for Melanoma. She taught science at the local high school as a substitute while the regular teacher was on maternity leave. She hoped to get a steady job there if the regular teacher resigned.
Joe Diaz recently left the Navy and now he is back in Canyon Springs where he hopes to get a job at the local high school teaching science as soon as there is an opening. He and his five year old son Davy are temporarily living with his Dad . He isn’t looking for any romance attachments but wonders who that beautiful lady is living in that RV at his Dads camp ground. Then there’s his sister in law who wants to take Davy away from him because she claims that as a father he is unfit and unable to raise his young son.
I found this to be a warm hearted book. Most of the characters were Christians and I enjoy that in a book. The writer had the ability to draw this reader into the story completely. I highly recommend it to all readers of Christian fiction and contemporary romance. It’s a Love Inspired book so no swearing or sex. I hope you will read it and enjoy it as much as I did.
I received a signed paper back copy as a gift from the author Glynna Kaye and Anne. Thank you!
I was not asked to write a review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Glynna Kaye pens a debut novel filled with warmth and humor.

Ms Kaye showcases the deep struggles within her characters as they consider competing for the same job, yet they can't deny the attraction developing between them. I appreciate the worthy goals each character embraces and applaud the realistic conflicts that hinder their progress.

Joe and Meg deal with issues tackled by many people each day. They face the future with uncertainty and discover prayer and faith will ultimately lead them to the right answer.

Excellent read.

I really enjoyed this book. Joe needed a job and a home to provide for his son before his sister-in-law tried to take him away. Meg wanted the same job and home because it was her dream and life is so short. She has cancer but it is gone now. So these two meet and become friends some days and enemies other days.
This was a very sweet, touching story. I recommend it.

One house, one job, two people wanting them both.....
Meg Mcguire has just come through some tough medical issues and she is finally on the other side of things. Through it she lost her fiance and his daughters that Meg loved but he was too afraid of her illness. So she has found the perfect house to go with the perfect job... but all is not perfect.
Joe Diaz is fresh out of the military and ready to buy a nice house and start a teaching job in Canyon Springs. After losing his wife he is ready to raise Davy. He don't need relationships or anything else right now. Especially not a frustrating woman who wants the same house, the same job and his son enjoys being around her!
And even if these two can work things out will Meg's past issues scare Joe away for good?

Glynna Kaye's debut novel, Dreaming of Home, is a wonderful, heartwarming story with loads of conflict and secrets that are keeping Meg McGuire and Joe Diaz apart. The story, along with a delightful cast of secondary characters that took up residence in my heart, kept me turning pages. I look forward to reading Kaye's next book!

Great job, Glynna Kaye! I thoroughly enjoyed Dreaming of Home. Meg is sweet and loving, always thinking of others first even when she's running scared. Joe is a true gentleman even when the situation isn't comfortable for him. I love that you used this to propel the storyline forward. Honestly, I wanted to read more. It was just that good!

3 & 1/2 stars.

This was the first Love Inspired novella I've read and it was a wonderfully written story, tackling some deep issues such as cancer, military single parent families, etc., but it just wasn't my genre (I normally read historicals). Despite it being "shorter" than most books I read, the storyline arched naturally. I think it would make a great Hallmark-style movie.

A lovely debut novel about two people struggling to overcome the pain of their pasts and find courage to form a life together. And a cute little boy and his grandfather acting as matchmakers only adds to the challenge!

Dreaming of Home by Glynna Kaye
Book 1 Canyon Springs, Arizona Series
In the fictional town of Canyon Springs, Arizona up in the White Mountains is where we meet our hero's and heroines in this series. Beginning with hometown hunk and hero Joe Diaz and the newcomer Meg McGuire who has quickly snuck into the hearts of the townspeople.

Meg is hoping to get a job as a Science teacher. Her Aunt June grew up in Canyon Springs and told her the stories of the small town and of going to a small school versus the Phoenix area Meg grew up in. And when her Aunt's old house came on the market she was sure that her dreams would come true and God had definitely led her to this place. That was before the handsome Joe Diaz and his young son Davy came into town...with Joe wanting the same job and the same house for his own. Meg knew how short life could be and how quickly it could change, could she give up her dreams to see this father and son live theirs?

Joe left the Navy to take his son Davy back to his hometown and to get to know his grandpa, Bill. After his wife, Selena, died it was easier for Joe to leave Davy with her parents and go back to the sea where things were familiar but something came up that called him to step up and be a father to his son. He came home expecting everything to be handed to him as the hometown hero but a petite firecracker stood in his way. Can these two find a way to work things out or will the fear from their pasts destroy their future?
