It’s All About Jesus!: Faith as an Oppositional Collegiate Subculture
"If after picking up [this book], you feel motivated and equipped to begin an ethnography of a nearby religious commnity, you are not alone. It is a sign of their success that Magolda and Gross are able to capivate their readers early and to hold their attention firmly. It challenges public and private, secular and religiously affiliated institutions to recognize that dialogue about religion and spirituality are ‘essential to students' identity development and essential to living out American higher education standards’."―

I know Peter personally and I read this to investigate the research he has been doing the past several years. The research on the campus activities of a small fundamentalist Christian group would have been painful for me (I think they are living in a fantasy world), but Peter did well in observing and describing this group. He was as non-judgmental as a non-believer can be, but it was just this attitude of non-judgment that put me off. As a critical thinker, it is difficult for me to stand by in silence as people say ridiculous things, like "I'm talking with God."
