A short book that explores the world of foxes although not really in any detail, which was disappointing since it seemed like the book would do so to a degree by naming the first fox as a gray fox. Unfortunately there is no naming of the Arctic fox to new readers although they do provide the names for the kit and red foxes.
The main details that are shared about the foxes besides the names of the ones mentioned above is just basically what color their coat is, why the gray left tracks, what would make there to be lots of fox prints and some mention of harder to pronounce numbers.
To young readers I think they will be happy with the illustrations for they are brightly colored and detailed mostly. At times the facial profile is a bit weird and distorted on some of the included foxes but not enough to be displeasing.
Along with the phonetic boost in the back for those who want to help young readers along, this hopeful finishing book will make for a nice quick read that is both simple to follow along and understand.

Where is the Fox?
Shelves: Animal, Beginning Reader, concept book, RED 315
Reading level:1.3
Interest level: K-2
This beginning reader is such an educational book. I really enjoyed how it focused on some important difficult sounds such as /ks/x like in fox and six and also the -en sounds such as den and ten. It also had some counting involvement and I think it would interest younger readers remarkably. Following along with the detailed pictures made the book that much better
