I listened to the LibriVox edition.
It was a little slow getting started, and isn't very heavy on plot. But I enjoyed the character sketches and separate anecdotes that made up the story. Three bachelors decide to get to know some of their neighbours, with a variety of results - some comic, some pathetic. An enjoyable peek into an old New York neighbourhood.
