This book is excellent! The history of the music of Asbury Park, New Jersey. Who or what or where is Asbury Park, New Jersey? Who is or what is the "E street band"? Well this book delves into all that, the "Asbury Scene" and even more. It's kind of like a history text book of the early rock music scene of Asbury Park. I personally grew up and lived among much of this Asbury music scene myself and still didn't know one tenth of the information contained in the pages of this book. I also recommend that if you read "Beyond The Palace" you must follow it up with reading Gary Wien's book, "Are You Listening? The Top 100 Albums of 2001-2010 by New Jersey Artists". This other book follows up where "Beyond The Palace" leaves off.
