While it's clear that this is Mio Nanao's first continuing series, this has a lot of promise as a deeper-than-you-think love triangle. Seventeen-year-old manga genius Ibuki Tonoo has decided that falling in love is something he really ought to try doing because everyone thinks its so great. Nanoha Kirishima is a totally inept editor who has just lost yet another author when Ibuki decides that she'll do for his love project. The two start going out, but Ibuki quickly finds that there's more to this "emotions" business than he anticipated, and things really start to heat up when he begins to grow jealous of Senkawa (his former editor)'s relationship with Nanoha...which may have deeper roots than he (and Nanoha) suspect. There's a dark undertone indicating that Nanoha was physically and emotionally abused as a child, leading to her inability to do anything right and tendency to smile through pain that makes this more intriguing, and the way Senkawa is used as a character has me thinking that this is not just the cute rom-com I was signing up for. But that's actually a good thing, and these character interactions and Nanao's attractive art make up for the places where it feels like the story skipped a page or two. Definitely a series I'm anxious to keep reading.
