This book can be used as an intiation into a new way of seeing, into the recognition that there is another possibility, which simply transforms everything.
Nobody Home: From Belief to Clarity is a mysticism book that seeks to outline a stage of spiritual growth for the reader. Written by Jan Kerrschot, a Belgian doctor, the book attempts to navigate the reader through spiritual growth from a belief in certainty to one of clarity and understanding. There are lots of different philosophical and religious beliefs are discussed. Nobody Home is a New Age book that attempts to provide spiritual growth that does not lead to divined religious doctrine.
The issue I found with the book is it made vapid points that didn’t make much sense to me. The book is esoteric and relies on different points made throughout religious and spiritual movements throughout the world but rather than looking at and unpacking each of them, sort to create his spiritual view. I read this book as a reflection on my deconstruction but wasn’t entirely impressed by it. Overall, it offers some thought-provoking ideas but doesn’t seem grounded in any structure. 3-star review.
