First couple of lessons were helpful, music might have helped with memory a bit. Then the music got more and more annoying and distracting, and the usefulness of the tracks went downhill.

Catchy songs and a goofy plot with a lovelorn protaginist will have you saying "grazie mille!" This short course quickly and painlessly teaches you very basic Italian phrases. Listen to it on its own, or with the accompanying book. Entertaining even for those who are not motivated to learn the language; my husband and mother-in-law listened to this with me on a long car trip and everyone enjoyed it.
