This is a great little book for the casual reader curious about spiders. Despite keeping tarantulas, I'm still squeamish about their smaller brethren, but the photos and information from this book helped me view them more as fascinating, beautiful, and amazing survivors. The book is exceptionally well-written. The authors don't pander but use proper and developed grammar along with scientific terms and names where appropriate. Various aspects of spider lifestyle, history, and behavior are explored using prose, illustrations, photos, and examples of both typical and extraordinary species.
