Max Brand, one of America's most popular and prolific novelists and author of such enduring works as Destry Rides Again and the Doctor Kildare stories, died on the Italian front in 1944.
Max Brand is one of my favorite authors, but I had never read this book before. He is a talented developer of character, and, indeed, in this story he defines The Streak, builds his character and gets the reader cheering for the hero. I enjoyed the book very much and had trouble putting it down.
I just couldn’t get into the book. It is one of the types I like but couldn’t get into this one. I just skipped through Willy Nilly to find out what happened.
