Brigham Henry Roberts was a Mormon leader, historian, and politician who published a six-volume history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and was denied a seat as a member of United States Congress because of his practice of plural marriage.

A fine book if one is merely beginning their understanding of the gospel. This being its intended outcome, it excels in its purpose. However, if one is looking for doctrinal exposition I would suggest looking elsewhere. Much of the content is derived from quotations and paraphrases of previous works such as The Lectures on Faith or John Taylor’s Mediation and Atonement.

A sample gem: Three essentials to faith unto salvation - 1) A belief that God exists, 2) A correct understanding of his character and attributes, 3) Knowledge that one's path is pleasing unto Him.
