The Parallel Society has a singular task — to protect the universe from the troubles caused by other universes intersecting with ours. But recent disruptions to the Society have place Veronica “Roni” Rider in the position of team leader, and they don’t have time for her to get acclimated.
Especially when one of their own goes missing.
Now, it’s up to the remaining members to find their lost teammate, uncover what really happened, and set things straight. Of course, it’ll be far more difficult than that. And when their nemesis Yal-hara appears, it might be downright impossible.

I’ve been reading this author for a while now, and I have enjoyed every book I’ve read. This latest is the sixth book in the Parallel Society series. Roni and company are dealing with the fallout of the last book, and it’s affecting the team in ways they don’t even realize. However, when one of the members disappeared, they need to find a way to work together for the rescue. I still love this series, and I’m getting to even like some the characters I was iffy about. I know I’ll also have a good time reading this author, and this latest doesn’t disappoint. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Conceptually, the story is great. A society dedicated to protecting their home in an infinite multiverse where all incursions must be thoughtfully managed. The support characters are great. But just a little too supportive of the protagonist who spends way too much time thinking about herself, showing little or no insight into the team she is supposed to be leading. Roni is a frustrating personality who lacks the maturity one would expect in a person of her age and experience.
Great addition to this series. I love the Parallel Society books but transitioning from one generation if team members to the next is tough. New team leader, Roni, is struggling with her role and that ambivalence is overshadowing some of the plots right now. Still I look forward to each new book and highly recommend them for your reading enjoyment.
The team of Parallel Society warriors are still mourning Sully's loss. Roni still feels untrusted, and Teams is still missing. This take is to rescue her, and remove the foes.
Roni is learning and getting a better picture of her job as leader. Dealing with the personal she is growing also. Though mt favorite character Elliot solved the rift issue I can’t wait to see where this story leads
