I grew up in part in New York State and had Grand Parents who lived in Kenmoore NY just a mile or two from the Niagara and its falls. I as a boy I went several times to the falls long after Twain's trip their and he penned this historic account. I sailed on the Maid of the Mist, and climbed down to the base of the gorge and several times visited the Cave of the Winds like Twain with little wear for worse. But it amuses me to read Twain's sarcastic misadventure at the falls... especially, meeting the Native American (and Canadians) who were there to make/sell their craft and mock the tourist and throw some into the river to get caught in the whirlpool there! Drat. :rofl.

This is not my favorite, however it is still a solid piece of short story fiction by Mark Twain, so probably a must read if you've made it a mission to read them all.

Basically, I venture that Mark Twain did not enjoy his trip to Niagara.
