Country Roads of Missouri

Rate this book
Scattered across Missouri you will find one of the best collections of old grist mills, country stores that have hardly changed in half a century, rivers pouring right out of the ground from the state¡¯s many springs, hundreds of miles of limestone caves, flaming autumn colors to rival those anywhere in America, and small towns such as Bethel with a fascinating history. In this book you will find strange stories of a hearse leading a wagon train, and you will learn how the French wine industry was saved from destruction by two imaginative Missourians.

Excellent! I love learning about quaint off-the-path towns and their history. This author revisits the state of his family roots. Here & there, memories are tenderly recalled & shared. I intend to drive these routes to see how much these "country roads" have changed over the decades.
