Neste livro, Adélia Prado descreve o seu mundo - uma cidade do interior -, a sua gente, a sua paisagem, numa linguagem ora comovida, ora indignada. Repleta de paixão e universalidade, ela cria música com seu lirismo.

What a beautiful book! Not because of its story (actually, sometimes I asked myself: what story?), but because of its lyrical language. It’s a spoken language, the rhythm and words from the countryside of Minas Gerais (Brazil) make us feel like we are sat in front of the character hearing her talk about her life. It’s amazing!
The book brings the thoughts of Violeta in a kind of stream of consciousness, mixing brief stories, her analysis of herself in her mid-ages,her confessions, her life. We follow Violeta’s attempts to understand who she is, what her prejudices are, what her failures are.
As a poet, she made her fiction full of poetry.
