Ian always got the short end of the stick in life. Sold into servitude when just an infant, it seems he is destined to spend his life in service to Kail, a knight who is looking for any excuse to hurt, or worse, kill him. After a particularly hurtful encounter, Ian decides he can take no more and runs away with his master's sword.
