This is a book of psychological torture, written by a woman who was charged and convicted in the death of a ten-year-old during a so-called "treatment" for reactive attachment disorder. These cruel ideas about RAD and the even crueler treatments promoted by the author and the likes of Nancy Thomas (the book's publisher) and Foster Cline, who spread disinformation about this condition, encourage self-diagnosis which goes against the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association, and also encourage dangerous and abusive "therapies" for children who have been adopted or fostered. The very first way of these 99 ways demonstrates how to torture your child by symbolically having them eat their own excrement.

If a child stops expressing emotions and becomes quiet, it seems more likely they are having a trauma response to these techniques.

Honestly, how in the world do people think this is funny, or effective treatment for any condition?

This author killed a 10 yr old girl and served jail time. The therapeutic practice was banned nationwide because Candace newmaker died. This woman was part of it. She wrote this book. I would not trust her.
