I read this to my 6 year old grand-daughter who said she thought it was a really great book. She said she liked the story (she guessed who the new Shepherd was) and she also liked the pictures and thought the three sheep were cute!

Cute little story about three little sheep hearing a story from their grandpa sheep about the greatest shepherd of all, Jesus. Each year, my family wraps each of our Christmas and winter books in order to randomly select one each night to read aloud as a family. This book was today’s story.

This book is a really nice one to read to your little guys to help them understand the birth of Jesus. How the angels came to the shepherds and how they felt; then ultimately expanding how Jesus is the greatest shepherd of all. Told in a way that I believe an advanced 5 year old on would understand it. Those younger (or mentally challenged) would still enjoy it with the storyline being three little lambs hearing the story from their Grandpa sheep. So they could still enjoy this book but may not get the full meaning of the book until they mature a little.
