I loved all the wonderful true stories in this book! They made me smile or tear up (sometimes in the same chapter). These wholesome stories are perfect for a nice relaxing read. Who knows? You might learn a thing or two about the fun farm animals in this book. I know I did!

Gottschalk wrote down his memories about learning how to farm as a child developed into a lifelong love of animals and the farm life. His stories express how hard it is for a family farm to become self-supporting. There is a little humor and a lot of hard work reflected in his journey.
