I felt that this book was even better than the first volume. In the first book I had some troubles with the main character, just couldn't identify with him. In this book he improved a lot, perhaps because I had already had a change to get to know him. I also enjoyed all the reappearing supporting characters.
As with the first book I love how much detail about the city Beinßen has brought into this book. Really worthwile to read for anyone who is connected with Nürnberg in some way.
The murder case was intriguing. Although I had suspected the actual murderer at some time, I had later revised my opinion and was genuinely surprised at the outcome. I'm already looking forward to read the next book in the series.
