Der Heidelberger Bergfriedhof. Auf dem Grab eines Kriegsopfers liegt eine Leiche. Privatdetektiv Max Koller steht vor einem Rätsel. Actually, 3 1/2 stars again! This book is maybe 50 pages too long for its story. That said, the story is pretty good with a plausible resolution. And both the protagonist and the characters around him are interesting. A good first case for this character!

this was a strange one. not in the sense of a strange book but it was just overall strange, i guess mainly because me and the protagonist didn't really "click".
he was odious and talked so weird. i'm not sure anyone talks like that, so stilted... and then he did loads of things that did not seem logical or even remotely comprehensible. but maybe i haven't ever met someone like that person. and i would not want to at that.
the structure was also a bit odd, one chapter and then the next chapter told you what happened before the one you just read. why? the case was perfectly nice and would not have required a "special" way of telling (but then i'm not the author).
however, a good plot and criminal case there. well done. style unfortunately did not convince and hence will not read on in this series.

Ich schummel hier jetzt ein bisschen, da ich das Buch nicht beendet habe, sondern beschlossen habe, es nicht weiterzulesen.
Das Buch hat mich so ziemlich seit Beginn genervt! Die Hauptfigur nervt, ist nicht zu fassen und zu verstehen, die langen, unnötigen Ausschweifungen des Autors sind nervig und - wie schon gesagt - völlig unnötig. Das macht keinen Spaß, also lese ich jetzt was anderes!

Ich bin zu keiner Zeit mit Max Koller warm geworden. Auch seine Art, zu ermitteln hat mir nicht gefallen. Ich hatte den Eindruck, als ob er mehr oder weniger planlos durch Heidelberg wandert. Hinweise findet er nur mit Hilfe von Freunden und Bekannten. Für einen Privatdetektiv ist er erschreckend unaufmerksam. Koller achtet auf nichts in seiner Umgebung. Erst viel später (manchmal schon zu spät) sieht er die Zusammenhänge. Mit so einem Chaot kann ich nichts anfangen. Diesen Krimi konnte nicht einmal das Lokalkolorit retten.
