The main character, a young Mohawk warrior named Tarenyawagon, is chosen by the Master of Life to lead his people and unite the Five Nations. Along the way, Tarenyawagon falls in love with a Oneida princess named Oona and faces many challenges, including battles with other tribes and struggles to maintain peace within his own tribe.
