This is a book for aviation buffs. It provides detailed illustrations, small photographs, technical specifications, production information, and some background data on dozens of aircraft employed during the last world war.

I discovered this book in the free bin of our local library. And while I'm not an aircraft aficionado, I thought I'd at least browse through the book before I gave it away.

After finishing Courage Has No Color: The True Story of the Triple Nickles, America's First Black Paratroopers by Tanya Lee Stone, I decided that it was an appropriate time to do so.

Despite my career in aviation, I was never that excited about the technical specifications of aircraft.

I enjoyed flying and really enjoyed the challenge of maintaining the route of flight and determining timing for critical phases of flight, like air refueling. But the plane itself wasn't all that thrilling to me.

Nevertheless, it's an informative reference and would likely appeal to anyone who is fascinated with aviation history.
