1) No current awards.
2) Grades 2nd and up
3) A La Rueda, Rueda is a children's folk song book that is a celebration of Latin American traditional song and the Spanish language. This book contains simple melodies as well as, spoken word poems that were passed on across different hispanic lineages.
4) This eclectic piece of music and culture from latin america is one of great value for any educator looking to bring both diversity and song into their classroom. Although the work has so many historical and profound implications, the language and melodies within this book are eloquently simplified for elementary age students.
5)
a) These songs should not stand alone in instruction (should be taught with a latin american curriculum) and would greatly enhance a bilingual classroom or a class with students who are learning about latin american culture or the Spanish language.
b) Great for morning/afternoon circle!
