Gary Smalley was one of the country's best-known authors and speakers on family relationships. He was the award-winning, best-selling author or coauthor of sixteen books, as well as several popular films and videos. Dr. Greg Smalley graduated with his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in Southern California. He also holds master's degrees in counseling psychology (Denver Seminary) and clinical psychology (Rosemead). Dr. Smalley is the director of research and development at Smalley Relationship Center in Branson, Missouri. He lives in Ozark, Missouri with his wife, Erin, and their two daughters, Taylor and Madalyn.

I had a couple of friends dealing with difficult marriages and read this hoping to help them. The book gives excellent advice and so much encouragement to persevere, regardless of the circumstances. I loved that the message of the book is really that it's never too late to repair your relationship. Even if there have been affairs, even if you are divorced, reconciliation is possible. For those who have decided to win their husband back, determined to hunker down for the long haul and done all they can to find him unyielding, there is still encouragement. God is pleased and He sees what you have done. This book has an overtly Biblical message and unashamedly purports that Christ-like attitudes and submission to His will is the only thing that will change anything in your life. Great examples, solid ideas and helpful for those of who aren't on the verge of divorce as well.

You can’t change him you can only change yourself. The book will make you think life is very unfair, but he has a point. God will allow your husband to remain in your life if you do the work he needs you to do on yourself. It gives you a better understanding of the male mind and heart and gives you great tips to heal and become who you are meant to be. And be again with whom you are meant to be with. Hopefully your husband!
It helps to know also that you aren’t alone and men do these things because they can’t carry the emotional baggage like we do. It definitely helped open my eyes to how I’d like to move forward in my relationship with my husband. IF/When the guy returns!
